
Councilman Gawrych appointed to CRDA Board
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (Feb. 8, 2010) – Mount Pleasant Councilman Paul Gawrych was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance following a recommendation by Mayor Billy Swails and approval by the CRDA Board.
“It is with great pleasure that I recommended Mr. Gawrych to the CRDA,” said Mayor Billy Swails. “His extensive background in finance and economic development positions him to be a great asset for the Town and for the region. He stands ready to collaborate closely with senior-level business, academic, and governmental leaders to ensure a globally competitive and sustainable regional economy.”
Councilman Paul S. Gawrych was first elected to Council in December of 1995 and served until September of 1998. He was later re-elected to Council in September 2002 and in September 2006. He chairs the Economic Development and the Recreation Committees. He sits on the Finance, Planning & Development, Police, Legal & Judicial, and Transportation Committees of Council. Councilman Gawrych is the Council representative for CHATS. He was also elected as Mayor Pro Tem in 2009 by members of Mount Pleasant Town Council. Councilman Gawrych is a 1985 graduate of the Citadel with a degree in Political Science. He is the founder and co-owner of Asphalt Concepts, LLC.
